OgirDM helps businesses and creators reply to the people who message their Instagram account. That means we hold two kinds of personal data, and there are two different ways to have it deleted. Find yourself below. Every request goes to contact@ogir.ai with the subject “Data Deletion Request”; we confirm by email when it is done.
You have an OgirDM account and you connected your own Instagram professional account to it.
Email contact@ogir.ai from the address your account is registered to, with the subject “Delete my account and data”. We will:
What we keep, and why. Billing and tax records where Indian law requires us to hold them, and a minimal record that the account existed and was deleted. Nothing in that record includes your customers’ message content.
This is not reversible. If you want a copy first, ask in the same email and we will export your contacts and conversations before deleting.
You do not need to email anyone. Go to Settings → Channels in the OgirDM dashboard and press Disconnect on the Instagram card. That immediately deletes the stored access token, tells Meta to stop sending us that account’s messages, and stops all automation. Your existing conversation history stays in your workspace until you delete it or delete the account.
You can also revoke us from your own Instagram settings, which works even if you cannot reach your OgirDM account: in the Instagram app go to Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites (or Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Apps and websites), find OgirDM and choose Remove. Doing this stops Meta sending us your messages. Data already stored in your OgirDM workspace is not deleted by this action — email us to have it removed.
You sent an Instagram DM to, or commented on a post of, a business, and its replies came through OgirDM. We store that conversation on behalf of that business, not for our own purposes. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not message you ourselves.
Ask the business first. It controls its customer records and can delete you from its OgirDM workspace directly. That is usually the fastest route, and under data protection law the business is the one responsible for answering you.
If you cannot reach the business, or it does not respond, email contact@ogir.ai with:
We will verify the request, pass it to the business, and where we are permitted to act we will delete your contact record and message history within 30 days and confirm to you. We will never need a password or any payment information, and you should never send one.
What deletion means here: your contact record, your messages in both directions, your comments that triggered an automation, and anything captured about you in an automated flow — for example a name, city or email you typed in reply to a question. Removed from routine backups within a further 30 days.
One thing we cannot delete: the copy in your own Instagram app and in the business’s Instagram app. Those belong to Instagram, not to us. Delete those in the app itself.
| Data | Why we have it | Deleted when |
|---|---|---|
| Business account details — name, email, workspace settings | To run your account | Account deletion |
| Instagram access token | To send and receive on your behalf | Immediately on disconnect or account deletion |
| Customer contact records — Instagram-scoped id, name, username, and anything your flows captured | So the business can hold a conversation with them | Account deletion, or on request |
| Message history and triggering comments, both directions | So the business has a record of the conversation | Account deletion, or on request |
| Delivery and error records | To show whether a message actually arrived | Account deletion |
We do not store the media from Instagram stories, and we do not build advertising profiles from any of this.
If you unsend a message in Instagram, Meta tells us and we blank that message’s content in the business’s inbox automatically. This is separate from the requests above and needs no email.
contact@ogir.ai — deletion and privacy requests, and everything else.
